This policy is part of the Terms of service. Using the service, you agree not to:

Content

  • Index or push content you do not have the right to make searchable, including content behind another party's login you do not control.
  • Use the service to index or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates another person's privacy — including using a partition or a scoped token to expose one user's private content to another.

The crawler

  • Attempt to have SuoBot crawl a domain you do not control, or attempt to bypass domain verification.
  • Attempt to make SuoBot ignore robots.txt, a crawl-delay directive, or its self-imposed rate limits — see the Crawler policy.

Keys and tokens

  • Share an admin or write key outside your own systems, or embed one in client-side code — only a search key or a scoped token is meant to reach a browser. See Security.
  • Attempt to forge, reuse past its expiry, or otherwise circumvent a scoped token's claims.

The service itself

  • Send traffic intended to degrade the service for other accounts — an abnormal request rate beyond your quota, or traffic designed to probe for vulnerabilities without prior authorization from us.
  • Attempt to access another account's indexes, records, keys or analytics.
  • Reverse engineer the service beyond what is necessary for interoperability permitted by law.
  • Resell the service as your own hosted search product without a separate agreement with us.

Reporting a violation

If you believe another account is misusing the service — crawling a domain they do not control, or exposing data they should not have access to — contact us at the address in the Crawler policy.

Enforcement

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates this policy. Where practical, we will give notice and a chance to correct the issue before termination, except where the violation is severe or ongoing.

Placeholders for legal review: a defined process and timeline for suspension appeals, and whether specific categories (e.g. content involving minors, or a legal request from a government authority) need their own explicit clause, are intentionally left open pending counsel's input.
